Kiddie Sex Scandal?

I call Shenanigans!

There have been a number of reports released in the last week regarding the alleged Toddler Sex Scandal at the First Lutheran of Carson School, in California.

Initial reports stated that one male child, age 4, was a victim of sexual abuse by a female child of 5 years old.  Then, another family came forward claiming that their child was also victimized by the same 5 year old girl.

Now, there  are as many as 7 children involved.  According to the administration at the First Lutheran of Carson School, it was an isolated incident in October 2012, and was addressed then and with the parents of all parties involved.  Whatever the incident was, there was no mention of a sworn statement by an adult having witnessed oral sex.

According to recent reports, it was Social Services that alerted parents that they had a written statement by an adult that eye-witnessed the event.  Prior to this, the parents were relying on child testimony, not adult Supervisors informing parents of any incident.

In addition, allegedly it was not one isolated incident in a restroom.  It allegedly occurred in the restroom and on the playground.  When Social Services was called (by parents) to investigate, they were cited for not having enough adult supervisors per capita children and having at least one complaint of a sexually related incident.

It smells fishy, because this allegedly occurred in October 2012 and the only reason its making headlines is because parents are filing civil suits against the Lutheran School in Carson, CA.  Parents want to cash in on child trauma due to a sexually related event.  One parent even goes as far as calling his victimized child a potential predator having experienced sensations and feelings he can not understand.  WTF???

On top of this, there is no mention of this 5 year old female perpetrator being investigated for sexual abuse.  What do children know about oral sex at this age?  We could argue that they can be exposed to it by adult programming on cable tv, the Internet, or by older siblings but this gets to the heart of the matter with adult supervision of small children.  It should be argued, because if she did perform this sex act, chances are she was sexually abused by someone.

If the 5 year old girl ‘offender’ has not been a subject of interest for clearing her of sexual abuse, what proof do parents have that any of this actually occurred?  Who started the whole discussion between parents?  Is Mr. McCarthy creating false hysteria or is there really something to this story?

What is not known to us, is how the discussion was breached between a 4 year old male ‘victim’ and his father.  What is also not known to us, is how the statement allegedly in the hands of Social Services  came to be written, what it says or who came forward.

“Parent Richard McCarthy told ABC 7 that a 5-year-old girl “often” performed oral sex on his 4-year-old son at the school.

“He told me about all the bad things that girl had been doing to him,” McCarthy told the TV station. “It went down in the classroom, it went down in the bathroom and it went down out on the playground.”

The fact that the Lutheran School is closing doesn’t exactly paint a picture of innocence as far as the public is concerned.  In fact, it makes them look guilty as hell.  The Church claims they are closing their doors because they do not have a Director in place, as required by the law.

“In a statement released to NBC Los Angeles, school administrators say their decision to close the school is due to staffing issues, not inappropriate sexual relationships among students.

“The decision to go into an inactive status was made based on the fact that our director has resigned for personal reasons. We have not been able to secure a full time director in a timely manner,” the statement said.”

Beyond the 7 alleged children involved, it gets even bigger!

“It seems like pretty much every child in that class either participated or witnessed it,” said attorney Greg Owen.”

More parents will be getting involved, and it may even result in a Class Action Suit.  And yet, there are no criminal allegations against the school for allowing this kidding porn ring to go on and on a ‘daily basis’ according to the parents involved.

For those of you out there that have kids, at best kids this age are curious about their body parts.  How they treat them is reliant on parenting at home, and guidance offered by care-givers.  Having had a small child in childcare myself, I do know that it’s not common practice to allow children of this age in a bathroom without an attendant.  Whether it’s a single facility or multiple facility, and often for child safety and insurance reasons.

This whole thing stinks like shit.  I’ll be keeping an eye out for updates on this case.

ABC News Reports:

Pastor Speaks Out

In an exclusive interview with Eyewitness News, the school’s interim pastor, Mark Witte, said the staff members were shocked and saddened by the allegations.

“Most of all, I was shocked personally as a pastor from the allegations that were brought to us by state licensing today,” Witte said. “Although we tried to address it on numerous occasions, it still continues to be part of the allegations and it is very distressing to me, especially after going through all those attempts to correct them.”

Child Up:  Kids are going to touch Genitals, let’s not not get too freaked out about it.

While neglectful teachers and abuse at home are definite possibilities in some situations, that’s not always the case. Often it’s just kids being kids, and not knowing it’s important to not play with themselves and others in public. They’re figuring things out for the first time. What feels good, bad, weird, wonderful — it’s all brand new. The children’s behavior isn’t deviant or freaky, it’s totally appropriate and natural.

Blank’s convinced that, in the situation in Carson, the person who’s acting the most inappropriately is Richard McCarthy, the father who claims his four-year-old son received oral sex from a 5-year-old girl.

“He told me about all the bad things that girl had been doing to him,” McCarthy said. “It went down in the classroom, it went down in the bathroom and it went down out on the playground.”

At least one other boy at the First Lutheran Church of Carson School says he also received oral sex from the same girl.

“The two boys that have been introduced to this feeling that they don’t know how to process are still looking for it, and trying to make it happen,” McCarthy said.

He goes on:

“I just had to keep yelling in his ear, ‘You’re not in trouble, you’re not in trouble!’ And I just told him, ‘You’re never coming back here again for these people to do this to you,'” McCarthy said, fighting back tears.

But now, he doesn’t know where to send his son.

“There’s no way I can just take him to another school and be that parent that just lets a predator loose,” McCarthy said. “How else do you explain it?”

It’s easy to understand why a parent might react harshly to the news that their son is experimenting in this way at school. In a culture that thrusts adult sexuality onto children — ones who are often too young to understand it — it makes sense that people are freaked out by one child putting their mouth on another’s genitals. Yes, it’s more intimate than the basic poke-n-touch. Do preschoolers know that? Not really. They’re just fumbling around.

Blank calls McCarthy’s reaction “really tragic.”

“His assumption is that his four-year-old son is a predator because he played doctor with a little girl in preschool,” she says. “We have this really unfortunate habit of attributing adult sex stuff to children. We imagine these kids are doing it with the same motive, energy, and desire to be sexual that adults have.”

[end excerpt]

It sounds to me like Mr. McCarthy hasn’t the first clue about parenting.  He’s already written his child off as a predator.  He feels like he can’t enroll his son in another preschool believing he will prey on his classmates.

I’m sure he won’t directly address the allegedly incident with his child either, or have discussions about his child’s body and who has the right to touch it.

I don’t know that treating the tot like a victim of a crime is appropriate either.  Children will mimic what they see, and explore on their own.  Kid’s don’t automatically start playing doctor, if they’ve never seen a doctor ‘play’ to to speak.  Adults do have a bad habit of projecting advanced concepts onto their children.  They also expect them to hold a certain volume of knowledge, even if they haven’t planted the seed.

It makes me wonder what kind of mind Mr. McCarthy has, it seems like he’s bent on treating this like some vile and perverse thing.  Was he molested as a child?  Or is he just being reactive to the focus on pedophilia in the ‘church’???

I’ve also read articles and blogs written that state that the teachers would purposely look the other way to get their rocks off by watching little kids fumble around with sex acts.

The investigators noted that teachers were in the vicinity when one child was biting on another child’s bottom.  I suppose that sounds sick, if you place it in a specific context.  Kids do weird things because they are kids!  I’m sure some of these investigators would refer to chronic masturbation as ‘violent’.  I’ve read my fair share of articles written by ‘experts’ that address children touching themselves and other children, the descriptions are enough to make you want to hurl.

If the forced closing of the school was due to a ‘refusal’ to step up their game in observing the kids, it sounds to me like the State already has their agenda clearly laid out.

The school is protesting the forced closure.  I guess we’ll have to see how this whole thing pans out.

More updates to come!
