The Pentagram

Disruption of the Pentagram

The Pentagram

A five pointed Star, a symbol we often see and as good as any to lie upon the soul of man and equally his body, (head, torso, left and right arm, left and right foot), to provide an analogous understanding of his Gray Matter.

The pentagram has ancient origins and has been apprehended by various cultures as a symbol that arbitrates anthropological fascination.  To the Babylonians a Pythagorean initiation, to the Egyptians a specific education and by the Middle Ages it signified the mark of the Witch and disciples of Satan.   Mystics such as the Kabbalahists, Rosicrucians and Freemasons wielded it as a magical Talisman and it can be found in most antiquarian and modern Grimoires. Today, it still stands as a representative of arcane knowledge that remains Occult to most and only a matter of happenstance that it adorns the flag of several modern countries to include the (52) United States of America.

Some would say the symbol represents the (5) Five Senses:  Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste, and Touch.   While others would argue that it makes up the Platonic Elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water , (Ether) to explain away the physics of the known Universe.    But what of the Unknown?

It was Pythagoras that described the number (4) as the final number that brings everything together, a way to describe the universe in quarters such as the (4) Directions, (4) Primary Elements, etc. and a system for man to transition to the next stage of conscious awareness.  He was of the opinion that if man exists as a three-dimensional being, there must be a way for him to step forward into a fourth dimension.

Walking forward isn’t enough to breach the Event Horizon nor does it create that much needed disruption which leads us to the fifth point on the star.  The fifth is a place where friction produces change and our resourcefulness builds soul.  Some call this fifth point on the star Spirit instead of Soul, or Soul instead of Ether We may even call this essence but isn’t it essentially communicating the same thing?

Semantics

Semantics is about the relation of words to thoughts but also the relativity of words to other human concerns.

Semantics is thusly, the relationship of words and reality.  More specifically, the users of words commit themselves to a shared understanding of a truth and the way their thoughts are anchored to things, situations, and ideas in the world.

Words are often in relation to a specific community, when a new word enters our language so too can a new world become in that process of creation and of creativity.

This strange new realm arises as an act of creation by a single speaker that evokes the same idea in the rest of the participants.  This creates a unique understanding with in a small population and only the holders of that understanding will be understood. It’s added to the pool that empties into the Ocean.  As it reaches more people, what we have then is considered common language.  Words are magic, in that they aren’t just identifiers.  They’re fluid like emotions. Words are also related to sensations in such a way that certain words are saturated with feelings and this benefaction incites invocation.

In this regard, words create social relationships which not only transfer ideas from person to person but also negotiate the type of relationship they seek to have with conversational partnerships.

Whether  written or spoken, words commit deeds.

Inventory

Linguists refer to the inventory of concepts and schemes that combine them as Conceptual Semantics.  The language of thought must be distinct from the language itself.

Rival understandings of words create a specific type of reality that exists in people’s heads vs. the actual state of things.   The language of thought frames it in such a way that a single object or event becomes vastly different and often incompatible.    This capability allows modern man to continue the evolution of creativity.  For without it, he would become stunted, and run out of material for scientific and literary creativity as well as a sort of social stage for the dramas of daily life where we live in arenas of human disruption.

The Coliseum

Within the Coliseum of daily drama you stand the pentagram blind-folded and spun round and round like the wheel of Conceptual Semantics about to face five champions.  All of which represent a threat to your very survival as Gladiator.

  1. Threat of New-comers, threat of the Unknown

Friend or Foe, you just don’t know.  A threat none-the-less.

  1. Threat of Rivalry

Rivals abound threaten your comforts.  You think you got the right way of thinking?  Awesome opinions?  Got it all under-control?  Boy, are you ever wrong.

  1. Threat of Substitution

Atmospheres are traded, one for another.  You’d rather be there, that place in your head you’re always day-dreaming but instead, you are here.

  1. Threat of  supply

So many things offered yet so little gained.  Got everything you need and want?  Well why the hell not?

  1. Leverage of Demand

In order for they, those, and them to benefit from your existence, you remain in power with your demands.  Don’t feel like you have much control?  Perhaps you should start leveraging.  The remaining Challenger is You.

Ratcheting

We are but what our brains perceive, and yet there’s so much more than we are aware of.  The mind wanders allowing a memory to conjure a thought and then another and another and it is this process that our brains create free associations to analogies that break us out of the box of comforts. The vague is given construct and we switch to an analytic mode by default where only the relevant parts remain.  We are quite capable of disrupting ourselves so much that allows for creativity.     It’s not as if we create in a vacuum, no single person can take credit for creating themselves or any byproduct of individual personhood.   Our social nature allows for information to be transferred from person to person, Anthropologists refer to this method as Cultural Ratcheting; a way that ideas are transferred from person to person, generation to generation and culture to culture.  The information remains the same until a disruption occurs allowing for an idea to form that creates an improvement and/or advancement of the original.

Disruption

Having thoughts is part of our human experience but it doesn’t mean that all thoughts have intrinsic value.  Thoughts can form ideas with a little disruption.  Ideas thereby become working models though they will be constantly and consistently under threat.   The threat of a new-comer questioning it, a rival challenging it, and the influences abound to offer a constant supply of substitution.  Your demands be damned!  Your wants then become their wants, until you’ve forgotten what you wanted in the first place.   You may even be no better or worse than when you started.

Allow your mind to wander but not so far that it loses all sight of any recognizable point of reference.  Seek a demographic.  Chances are in your favor that a group of people are after the same things that you are but what you’re looking for is a much needed disruption.   Otherwise, you’ll just get infected with a virus that behaves like a parasite. A demographic is more useful than a peer-group, who the hell are your peers anyway?  Peers end up mirroring each other and there’s no real innovation, or spark for creation.  If you’re looking for a way to create, innovate and advance, you need inspiration to find a way to become the anomaly in the machine.  Or else, you are bound to ratchet away in the same manner as you always have been.  No real point of reference to enact your default analytic mode.  No way to get your thoughts together to form an idea to develop or progress.

6 Million Years of primate evolution have left foot-prints behind, though while you’re looking back, you are refusing to put your best foot forward;  right foot, left foot, head, torso, arms and the innate essence sparked 100,000 years ago that separates us from other species still following the same diagram of progress.

A disruption of the Earth’s landscape forced early Homos to innovate while fighting tooth and claw for resources; a spark in our Gray Matter that put a fast step forward into the 5th point on the Pentagram.  Meanwhile, the cockroach remains essentially unchanged since the age of the dinosaur, doing all of its buggy things and yet still remains at the bottom of the food-chain. They out-number us sure, but imagine if it evolved into a species with as much Gray Matter as we Homo Sapiens.  We imagine that they would just mimic us.

The irony is, today, we scurry around doing all of our human things like insects, it can’t but be wondered if we are destined to become just like the Cockroach.

We long for a much needed disruption.  It would seem only a small percentage of our species is dissatisfied with technology or our ability to just invent things.   Pentagrams in the sky allow their minds to wander off to a place where existential crisis is born, an idea cultivated that is third world, and damn near primitive.  Gods, aliens, invisible beings, and entire worlds built on nothing more than dissatisfaction.  Might as well go back to caves, sling shit and grunt stories a place where the whole religious debacle started in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s really nothing wrong with religion.  It satisfies a human need, thing is… Why do we need it?

Am I to believe that our essence longs for something magical, mystical and not of this world, in order to see my full potential realized?

What would disrupt me that much that turns me a believer? A bunch of Fairy Tales, empty promises or the Gnosis of others?  Then what, all my wishes come true?  I somehow enter into a 4th Dimension where my material being is nothing more than abstraction?  A figure of my imagination?

All of this dance on the head of a pin, and yet I’m threading the needle; crafting up something I can use.

When did Satanists become so righteous?

Question of the day:  When did Satanists become so righteous?

Imposed morality has been in use by Satanists for the better part of 25 years.  This often becomes shocking to more solitary Satanists, they find themselves a midst the herd of mob mentality and it begs to question:  What the hell kind of Satanists are these?

I cover a number of socio-political issues on my radio show, and discuss focus groups such as Occultists, Satanists and pagans. Where the rubber hits the road,  is when imposed morality is likened to the Witch Hunts of the Middle Ages.  Is a Satanic Security AgencySatanic police force, and the Satanic Brown-coats necessary?  And what are these self-righteous Satanists policing?  Good question.  When taking a closer look, you may be alarmed to find that they are targeting your lifestyle, personal preferences, philosophies, religions and creeds.

A question I’ve recently received in email:  “Sin, I love your blogs but I’m a bit confused.  I thought Satanism was about personal liberation and freedom?”

There was a time when this was a value embraced by most Satanists in the 20th century.  Flash-forward about 2 decades, and ‘Satanist’ is not as definitive or absolute as one might imagine.  In order to distinguish ideals resoundingly Satanic, it becomes problematic for those individuals that seek answers.

Satan = Iconic Satan

Satanic = of or pertaining to Satan

Satanist = a person which employs Satan

Satanism = a set of practices and/or beliefs with Satan at the center

Beyond that?  You won’t really know who or what Satan is, until you speak to the individual Satanist.  There are some tried and true axioms in Satanic philosophies that remain unchanged; such as those in use by Modern Satanists.  The term ‘Modern Satanist’, is relatively new, at one time it was enough to simply call yourself a Satanist.  Some writers address Satanism from a post-Modern point of view.  This implies that Satanism did in fact experience a change and flux, with the death of Anton Szandor LaVey in 97’.

Early interviews with LaVey himself reveal that Satan was not just regarded symbolically, but most importantly as a personal divinity to look to as a mentor and role model.  This was often misinterpreted as exclusivity of an Atheistic paradigm. His personal views on servitude are made resoundingly clear throughout his lifetime.  Even if, there were a godform called Satan in our midst, going down on bended knee to serve it, or worship it, a Satanist would never do.  Not because he was told not to serve, but because it is inherent in his nature to revel against such oppression, subjugation and slavery.  ”Born Not Made”, is an axiom embraced by many Satanists.  Either it’s in your nature, or it’s not.  No matter how hard you try to ‘make’ a Satanist, the primal nature of the individual always shines through.

In the 21st century and with more and more Theistic Satanists coming into the public eye, their personal ideals, morals and ethics become part of the Satanic landscape.  Theistic Satanism didn’t exactly get a red-carpet welcome in the wake of the Satanic Ritual Abuse scare which prompted the Satanic Panic!  It is unfortunate for the rest of us, that we must suffer these righteous paranoid shadow dwellers.  They hide in closets, in the ‘underground’ and it gives credence to social paranoia about Satanism.  On top of that, their paranoid delusions cause them to peek in the closets of their own brethren.  The trouble then is what they actually find there.  If the mob believe it’s a real possibility that you may have a criminal record or even whispers of sexual abuse a lynch mob is rallied.  An even larger problem is that many Satanists know this all too well, and so it becomes the weapon of choice to use against your enemies.

Some Satanists wouldn’t bat an eye-lash at the idea of fabricating false claims of pedophilia, rape, murder, and other unfavorable crimes to eliminate other Satanists from the strata.  With the advent of Social Media, it just became that much easier and quicker to spread gossip, false claims and the whistle-blowers come running to stand at attention.  They are the new Brown Coats, specters that behave like Inspectors.

This fosters more righteous behavior, and it extends to proper and improper behavior.  As rebels rage against the machine, the finger-pointers create social hysteria groups to discuss how mean and evil Satanists have become.  Become?  Yes, the new aura of Satanism is that Satanists are merely misunderstood dark neo-pagans.  Many even embrace the Wiccan Rede as their moral compass, with a special focus on “And ye harm none, do as ye will”, even if that portion is wholly misunderstood.

Magical systems directly address the transmutation of thought and emotion to reconstruct internal architecture (i.e. Alchemy).  It was never meant to be used to determine which magical practitioners were performing helpful or harmful magic.  The labels ‘White’ and ‘Black’ Magic become prominent in the late 60’s and 70’s and more and more modern pagans sought to be accepted by their local communities.  Satanists were then regarded as ‘Those people’ while pagans proclaimed they were just as gentle and helpful as most Christians.  Even if, in their own ritual chambers they were gouging out the eyes of their enemies in the form of an effigy.  Shhhhh, it’s a secret.  Exploring the godhead on my Radio Show, this very premise was brought up and discussed between myself and Dastur Adam Daniels, Church of Ahriman

Believe it or not, there are Occult hipsters.  A term coined to describe them is Occultniks.  These are the posers, fakers, and all around foolish types that presume to pass off their fakery as living as a Satanist.  No matter how hard they try, they cannot fool those of the Infernal Empire.   They wave their dirty morality compass at you and to impose their own moral/ethical code upon you.   At the very core of my nature, I regard them as sheep in wolves clothing.  A sheep is still a sheep and not very good at the masquerade.  They are woefully enslaved by their own up-bringing, influences and experiences.

If you personally identify as a Theistic Satanist, then you too will be subjected to the stereo-type of being regarded as a Reversed-Christian.  This pejorative implies that you are a Christian in reverse meaning that you would directly reject the teachings of Christ and embrace all things condemned by the teachings of the Church.  This moniker is in use by Satanists to defer to a type of Satanists that actively practices blasphemy such as inverting crosses, reciting biblical passages backwards, and embracing acts considered sacrilegious but at the very foundation you are still very much a Christian.

The evidence lent to this label is best demonstrated in your own personal creeds, and behaviors.  Take for instance the idea that Satanists should turn the other cheek.  If a person does you dirty, you should take the higher ground and not repay the favor, in compliment is implication that you should forgive and forget.  Some Satanists refuse to pay lip-service to such scum, and vengeance is the ONLY repayment worth spending.  The outcry from observers is also telling.  The mob cries:  You are so evil!  He apologized and you refused his apology!  To many Satanists apologies are worthless, and nothing more than empty words, action is a higher valued commerce; especially in the atmosphere of Social Media.  In other words, in order for the scales of merit to balance in your favor, you must answer to your own moral conscience before ever considering the ethics and morality of another.

Some Satanists demand that you conform to their social standards of behavior.   If you will not comply, some seek to have you alienated from social groups, even if they negate your nature as a non-conformist.  They spin their wheels attempting to have you black-balled from a group you would seek no part of anyway.  Many Satanists test the waters of social networks to separate the wheat from the chaff.  When the righteous come forward willingly and without provocation, it makes the labor that much easier for the Satanist.

For this Satanist?  I couldn’t care less if you like your nipples buttered before adding electrical current,  I’m more concerned with what you DO with your personal preferences, ethics/morality, philosophy or religion.  Influence is influence, no matter how you shake your compass at it.  It can be positive, negative or nullifying.   Every person has their influence.  And some of these Agent Smiths need to have their bloody asses kicked. Plain and simple.

Word of advice?

Short of giving them a much needed bitch slap, you may need to come in like a Ninja and dissolve the Matrix in toto.

As for me, while some of these Satanists are acting like self-righteous Occultniks, I’ll be in the machine, hitting hard and fast with my mental kung-fu.

My kung-fu is strong…I’m SIN JONES.
